Settling in...

Well, it's been just over two weeks that we have been home with our little girl. Certainly an adjustment having a little one around all the time! We have been blessed to have Kurt's mom staying and helping, I don't know what we'll do this next week when it's just us!

Madelyn seems to be a fairly good-natured baby. She doesn't seem to be overly fussy unless she is really hungry! Which she is quite frequently :) Maddie may have started out tiny, but she loves to eat and is nearly 8 lbs now...a very healthy weight gain the doctor says!!

My recovery has gone exceptionally well and we've been out and about quite a bit these last two weeks. Maddie celebrated her first holiday, The 4th of July, (she completely slept through all the fireworks) she's had a couple of play dates, and we've been on many walks, and in between all of that...she sleeps...a ton!

Here she is, enjoying her carseat and stroller. She loves the carseat, whether it's attached to the stroller or in the car!

Here Maddie is being introduced to her two little friends. Two of my closest friends here in Seattle are new moms as well. Kylia is over two months old and Mia is over four months old. I don't know if the girls are that thrilled to be seeing each other, but us moms are so excited to be having little girls all at the same time!!

And here she is, enjoying her favorite pastime...at least for now...sleeping!

Lastly, we had to include a picture of Madelyn with our other little family member...our beloved dog, Griffie. For those of you who know his crazy demeanor, he is actually taking Maddie's presence in the house very well!

She's here!!

Madelyn Grace Biederman entered the world on Wednesday, June 27th at 7:26 in the morning. Because she was born by c-section, we needed to stay in the hospital until Friday. Baby, Mom, and Dad are doing great...everyone is healthy and wonderful! Madelyn sure is a tiny little thing, she was born at 7 lbs 3oz. She has already lost a little weight as all newborns do in their first couple of days of life, but there are no concerns as she has been a hearty eater from the start. Soon after we returned to our room with Madelyn, she fed and was bathed by Dad and the nurse. Maddie seemed to love her first bath and Dad promises that that will be his job at home as well. Here is another shot of Maddie with her daddy; It was such a blessing in the hospital to have both of our families around to help celebrate as well as many friends stop and meet the newest addition to our family.

Here's Grandpa G and CC with their first little grand-daughter;

Here are Papa and Mimi with their 3rd grand-daughter (after having three boys, they sure are enjoying all the girls in the family now!!)

Of course it was so difficult to pick out just a few snapshots of Maddie for the blog...so here are just a couple more of my favorites!! And of course, we'll update soon.

And lastly...here are the proud parents about to bring Madelyn home from the hospital!! Yay!

The final countdown...

I can't believe my pregnancy is coming to an end. The months have flown by and my stomach just keeps on growing. My favorite part about the pregnancy has easily been all of the little movements I've been feeling over the last couple of months. The little kicks and headbobs have been so neat and hard to believe that a little person is growing in there! My very least favorite part of the pregnancy has been the extreme swelling that I have experienced. My feet are like sausages and I haven't been able to wear my wedding rings for almost 3 months now! Though my pregnancy has been fairly easy, despite the swelling, Kurt and I are very ready to meet our little one!

A little update for those of you who are not aware, Madelyn is in a breech position and therefore we are scheduled for a c-section 1 week before my due date. Unless, Maddie decides to do a last minute flip, we will be having her on June 27th! Yes...that is less than three weeks away!!!!

Here are some shots of her room...it is quickly becoming Kurt and my favorite room in the house. The chair is so soft and comfy!
